Who else but Alexander McQueen would dare take the skeletal design of something so inherently geeky and Sci-Fi as the alien from Ridley Scott's classic "Alien" and interpret it so brilliantly in a shoe?! Here you can see that McQueen has used the "IT" shoe shape of the season, a mega high heel with built in platform, added a peep toe opening, then translated it into something utterly inspired. Never taking himself too seriously, it was this kind of tongue-in-cheek approach to high fashion that contributed to his great achievement as one of the most significant designers of the last 2 decades.
